It's springtime!

Spring is my favorite time of year. Everything is new and fresh. The air smells wonderful, until the farmers spread manure. I can't wait to get started on my garden. I started some of my seeds. I will be buying most of my plants as seedlings. They usually do better anyway. It is always exciting to decide what to plant. Tomatoes of course(hopefully the cows won't escape and eat them all this year) peppers, sugar snap peas, green beans, yellow wax beans, corn, radishes, carrots, beets, zuchinni, summer squash, butternut squash (hopefully we can keep the deer out of it), pumpkins. These are just the staples. I plant a garden at grandma's house and use my back flower beds as lettuce beds and for herbs. I want many more herbs this year. Rosemary, dill, basil, parsley, cilantro. I also want raised beds here. I want to put in cherry or grape tomatoes, peppers, and I am not sure what else here at home. I planted lots of eggplants last year, but none of them produced anything. This year I hope to buy the plants and maybe they will produce. It is always fun to do something different each year. This year maybe we will try swiss chard. YUMMY!
